Microsoft Word Format for Booklets
This file
is designed to be duplicated in booklet format. You must have a photocopier capable of constructing booklets. Here are the instructions:
- Print out the document.
- Using a paper cutter cut each page in half, so the each new page in 5.5" by 8.5".
- Make a stack of the cut pages, beginning with the cover and a blank page and making sure they are in the same order in which they were printed. A good way to check this is to read the last line on each page and make sure it continues on the following page.
- Load them in them into the automatic document feeder.
- Put 8.5" by 11" inch paper in the copier in landscape orientation. Make sure all the settings for the drawer are for this orientation.
- Set up the photocopier to make booklets.
- Once the booklets are made, fold them in half and use a leaflet stapler (set at 5.5" inches) to staple them.
Microsoft Word Format for Newsletters
These files:
are designed to be copied by copiers that are NOT able to make booklets, but that can do back-to-back copies. Here are the instructions:
- Print out both documents.
- Make a stack of pages, beginning with the cover page followed by a blank page.
- Then put the rest of the pages of the report in order. They are numbered.
- Place them in the automatic document feeder.
- Put 8 ½”by 11” inch paper in the copier in portrait orientation. Make sure all the settings for the drawer are for this orientation.
- Set up the photocopier to copy one-sided to two-sided and press the button that will tell the copier to collate the completed copies.
- Once the sets of copies are made, staple them as desired in the corner or along the side.
