Water Gifts

by the Rev'd Jeanne Kirby-Coladonato, Rector, Saint Luke's, Seaford

Members of Saint Luke’s, Seaford, had the great fortune, not once, but twice this summer to interact with the community in the form of providing bottles of water to the thirsty!

Nice, icy bottles of cold water were welcomed by those who were attending Riverfest on that hot July summer Saturday. Riverfest is an annual event in Seaford which includes a parade, an inner-tube race down the Nanticoke River, and many booths and crafts among its many attractions. Folks come from all over Sussex County and beyond to enjoy this time of fun and laughter.

Attached to the bottles of water was information and an invitation to visit Saint Luke’s, and who knows? Perhaps they will come and then find Living Water here!

Two weeks later, AFRAM, an annual event in Seaford, celebrating The Spirit of Being African American, which features something for everyone including food, entertainment, exhibits, and vendors, again provided the opportunity to continue the giving of that thirst-quenching, spirit-lifting bottled icy water with its invitation to “Come and See us at Saint Luke’s on Front Street in Seaford, Delaware, where all are welcome.”
