In June, nine young people from St. Peter's, Lewes, spent eight days in the Diocese of Puerto Rico. They prepared for this trip by participation in two previous mission trips in the U.S. and by working and being together for almost three years. In these three years most of them had gone through Confirmation and all had been active in the life of the parish. For ten weeks prior to going they and the six adult advisors took Spanish classes together. Funding came from "Mission Shares" sold to parishioners, fund raisers, and family.

The goals of the mission trip were to Learn from, Pray with and for, Serve and Engage people of the Diocese of Puerto Rico in their mission and vision. We stayed at the Diocesan Center and traveled throughout the island. We returned with a commitment to the people of  Iglesia San Pablo, Arecibo and with them to the Hogar San Miguel in Ponce and the young men who live there.
