On Saturday, May 5, 2007, St. Anne's Episcopal School held its Multicultural Fair and Fundraiser, which included the Heron Hustle, a 5-K Cross Country Run and Kiddie K, a silent auction, international entertainment, and arts and crafts projects for children. The event, housed on school grounds, raised approximately $14,000 for the school’s annual fund.
“As much as anything, the Multicultural Fair and Fundraiser was a friend-raiser and one that celebrated the school's and the greater community’s beautiful diversity,” said Lisa Chase, Director of Marketing and Development. “Everyone who came enjoyed the wonderful festivities at the school, including crafts projects, delicious international foods and great entertainment. An added bonus was that we were blessed with beautiful weather for the day!”

“Some of the entertainment highlights included Dover’s Sankofa African dancing and drumming, Chief Quiet Thunder sharing Native American traditions, Do Cairde Irish Dancing demonstration, Indian culture and dance from some St. Anne’s families, Dance Unlimited of Middletown, and Chinese Lion and Folk Dancing from the Chinese Cultural Community Center in Hockessin,” said Louise Howlett, Chaplain and acting Diversity Coordinator. “We celebrated the diversity of our school and of American society while raising money for scholarships and other programs essential to our mission to nurture the spiritual, social, academic, and athletic aspects of our students—what a wonderful day!”
Sponsors for the event were the Harrington and Ferrara families, Atlantis Industries, Dover Chapter of the National League of Junior Cotillions, Camp Chiropractic, General Rental Middletown, Inc., Surgical Associates, PA, and Willey Farms.
