SsAM Hosts Wilmington Downtown Festival

Photo: It was a beautiful day to relax in the neighborhood.

Sandwiched between the Jazz Festival on the Square and the July 4th festivities at the River Front Park was the Saints Andrew and Matthew (SsAM) Downtown Festival in Wilmington held on June 29, 2007, for the benefit of its neighbors.

For the second year, participants were not charged an entrance fee and the big attractions continued to be free music and free activities for children including face painting, a train ride, self-propelled twirl-a-gig, and a castle moon bounce.

SsAM’s men outdid themselves with the Fish Fry and other food vendors provided everything from hotdogs to barbecue, snow cones to funnel cakes. SsAM’s members provided home-baked goods and items for sale at Attic Treasures.

Next year's festival is scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and promises to be bigger and better than ever.
