Grace Church hosts
Habitat Vacation Bible School
Grace Episcopal Church hosted a Vacation Bible School from July 31 to August 3 with 55 children attending. The theme of the VBS was UNDER CONSTRUCTION, a program developed by Habitat for Humanity that uses a construction metaphor to help children learn about community. During our daily chapel service, a total of $383 was given in offering to Habitat.
The participating children assumed the role of construction crew members and rotated between “job sites”.

Break Time: Recreation and snacks with games designed to complement the Bible story of the day
Scales and Measures: children learned songs which supported daily theme
Hard Hat Area: kids created community crafts and projects
Survey: children heard community stories about boys and girls whose lives are touched in some way by Habitat for Humanity.
Children also had the opportunity for “Early Bird Activities” – watching adults work heavy duty construction machinery (saws, lifts, etc.) plus the special treat of a hayride the last day!
