Programs & Activities for Youth, plus Support for Christian Educators

In January of 2008, we offered the Senior High Wintercamp trip. Some 40 senior high youth and adult leaders came along for this very popular trip. In March, Junior High Wintercamp we plan a similar adventure. Wintercamp has been offered for many years in the diocese, beginning with a small trip in 1998 and growing to a size that necessitates a bus. Youth on the trip have lots of time to make new friends and participate in a number of activities, but especially to hear a series of talks about Jesus and his offer of salvation. Engaging talks are always an important element of Wintercamp.

The diocese has several youth active in the Province III Youth Network. Province III includes the Diocese of Delaware and several surrounding dioceses of the Episcopal Church. Meetings with youth groups from other dioceses is an excellent way to compare programs and to be inspired to do more.

Each year, many youth participated in an overnight trip to Washington DC for the National Acolyte Festival, held at the Washington National Cathedral. Several churches in Delaware take advantage of the trip, which is appropriate for all ages. Our youth are also active at the Diocese of Delaware Annual Convention and Parish Life Day.
